Deathbane Maze

Hi everyone! I know I havent been posting lately, but I've been busy with other stuff. So to start off, I've decided to tell you how my evening went last night.
Last night I challenged the Deathbane Maze. (Here's a link if you dont know what it is: Deathbane Maze). Holy. Freaking. Fluff. That place was hard. It spans 7 houses and a dorm room, and it uses virtually all available space inside or out of the home. I completed it though (TWICE ^0^), and I even won an event along with my good friend Austin Swifthorn. So that was pretty good :D
In some other news not so Wizzy related, my OTHER good friend, Mary Ravengem has been working furiously to prepare each new chapter of her ongoing story for her audience, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who.......can read :D (She told me that my character would be introduced soon, so that's DEFINITELY something to look forward to). A link to her story is located to the right of this post
--------------------------------------------------->
This is the part where I'd normally tell you about some new Wizard101 thing going on, but truth be told, KI hasnt really updated since the 13 Days of Wizard ended. So yeah....
SO TO END THIS POST, PLEASE VIEW WITH YOUR EYEBALLS MY RECENTLY EPIC (FIRST EPIC PET EVER) LEOPARD, RASCAL!

Motus Letalis Preview

So I've finished the preview of my upcoming story, Motus Letalis. I'm gonna post is here and let the viewers give me feedback (AND I ACTUALLY WANT FEEDBACK!) Remember, I'm open to just about any suggestion, so feel free to throw your ideas out there. WITHOUT FURTHER ADO (because that saying makes PERFECT sense), MOTUS LETALIS!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Motus Letalis
“Mr. Swifthorn!” King Tralik Rokaria’s booming voice bellowed throughout the halls of Palace Lumiosa. Austin Swifthorn had heard the shout all the way from his lab in the other wing of the palace (despite easily accessible communication tools situated throughout the immense structure; one positioned not more than a foot away from the King himself), and was now straining his legs to reach the throne room, where the King was calling from. He was concerned; the King’s voice did not imply positive news.
He passed through the remarkably lengthy corridor winding from the staircase to the Throne Room, and burst through the doors in a noticeably clumsy way, nearly tripping. However, managing to catch himself, he stood erect, and then proceeded to bow with his entire upper body to the reigning monarch of the Spiral.
“Good day, my King,” he coughed, still panting from his unexpected trip through the Palace; his voice exposing faint traces of fear and admiration. “What troubles you this fine day?” He waited for a response. The King’s impressive stature and stern look intimidating the director, who could feel the very gaze of this impressive entity drill holes though his head. (Who wouldn't be intimidated by a seven foot tall golden colossus glaring at you?) Finally, the King spoke.
“Mr. Swifthorn, it has been brought to my attention that a recent string of murders have been appearing all over the Spiral. So far the worlds that have held witness to such murders were Wizard City, where a young wizard was brutally murdered within his dormitory; and Wysteria, where a goblin showed up dead on somebody’s doorstep. Most recently however, in Mooshu, a merchant was repeatedly impaled in the torso within the central shopping area. Now, Mr. Swifthorn, I’m concerned that your men are not already working tirelessly to solve these murders. However I'll assume it was due to our messenger failing to deliver this news, and turn the other cheek. I don't want to see that happen ever again. So I'm putting you to the task of ending these heinous killings and persecuting those responsible. I want this murderer found and put away for life. Do I make myself clear?” he explained. Austin gulped and swiftly nodded. He turned to walk away to prepare his team of investigators for the task at hand, until Rokaria stopped him.
“Just one second, Mr. Swifthorn!” he began. “I’ve assigned someone else to assist you in this case. We’re clearly dealing with a competent criminal who knows what he’s doing. This will be good for you; seeing firsthand an experienced ‘detective’ at work.” He glanced at the floor, understanding the hint the King was attempting to pass on. He doesn’t think I can do this… he thought dismally. He then redirected his attention back towards the King, and saw him whispering something to his Advisor, Courtney Deathwhisper. She nodded exuberantly, brown hair bouncing vigorously with every shake of her head. When he finished conveying his message, she ran off down the corridor to the King’s right. Austin stared at the King for several seconds until he heard footsteps echoing off the vaulted ceilings, to which he turned towards. And instantly his heart sank like a rock into the pit of his stomach. Not him… he mentally pleaded. Anyone but him!
Into the throne room walked an intimidating man. His black hair shining effortlessly off the chandeliers lighting the massive chamber with every stride. His violet-colored eyes flicked rapidly from the King, to Austin, and back. As he walked, his black boots hardly making a sound, except for the fainted of thuds that reverberated off the walls; his black tunic hardly shifted with every minute rotation of his body between steps. He was the King’s most favorite agent. Captain of the Red Royal Order, the royal assassin squadron. Wolf Deathbringer. And Austin hated him with a burning passion. He stopped just short of Austin, and he noted that Wolf was roughly 2 or 3 inches taller than himself. Wolf turned and bowed before the King.
“Mr. Swifthorn, I’ve assigned Mr. Deathbringer here to your case,” the King declared, sounding as if he had just accomplished a feat of considerable greatness. Wolf stood motionless beside Austin before the King.
“Your Majesty, with all due respect; I was under the assumption you were assigning another seasoned detective to this case. The Captain of the RRO surely isn’t fit to be taking on solving the case of a murder?” Austin explained. Wolf remained motionless. The King’s eyes narrowed on Austin, and he could faintly see the King’s arms tense.
“Mr. Swifthorn, I’ll have you know that Mr. Deathbringer has extensive experience in hunting down criminals. That’s his profession, is it not? And given what we have going on this case so far, I’d say we’d need the best we’ve got. Murders like these don’t seem like much, however I’ve got a feeling something is amiss with this particular case. So Mr. Deathbringer is here to accompany you on this case.” Despite his haughty nature, the King’s intuition was 99% accurate, and he was wise beyond his years (which is saying something of considerable respect, for the King has been in power for longer than Dragonspyre itself was in shambles).
Austin found no other way around this task, and reluctantly gave in to the King’s command. He sighed a great breath of defeat, and bowed his head, both from respect towards the King’s decision, and shame.
“As you wish, my King.” With a satisfied smile, the King relaxed, and nodded towards Wolf.
“Mr. Deathbringer, I’m counting on you to solve this case. And also to protect Mr. Swifthorn from possible retaliations of us launching an investigation,” he instructed. Am I invisible?! Austin questioned, referring to the King’s previous comment concerning his capability to close a case, or even that to protect himself.
“Yes sir, Your Majesty,” Wolf said as he bowed once more. His voice was an octave deeper than Austin’s, and had the consistency of dark chocolate – smooth, yet assertive Yet another thing Austin couldn’t stand about him.
“Wonderful. Now you two should make your way to Mooshu. That’s where the most recent murder took place. I’ll have our stable-keeper ready mounts for you to depart. I’m counting on you.” And with that, the King waved them off. Wolf swiftly bowed his head, and began his trek through the castle, to the stables. Austin watched as walked off with disgust. This is gonna be a long day…
Zap - Cancelled
Sorry folks! I have officially cancelled Zap. I know. You're bummed. HOWEVER! I'm basically restarting it with a new plot. But it isn't the same at all, so it's just flat out a new story. I wont give away any details just yet, other than the title. And I might reveal of portraits of characters for you to attempt and figure out what role they play. The title of this new story is Motus Letalis, and will be coming to your local WLOWD blog soon :D
Yay for the Holidays!
So today KI has announced the next batch of seasonal events is about to be brought into the Spiral. Felix Navidad, our wonderful friend who sells us Yuletide themed items will soon arrive in the Shopping District near the fountain. (I hope he has new pets!) I've added a picture from KI:
Also, because it appears KI cant get enough of their palooza's, they've began Plant-a-Palooza. Need I go on?
So yeah. Some stuff to look forward to. Anyways, the poll has been counted, and it's been decided I'll post all the Abracadoodle comics on their own page. It'll take a while though, so be patient. It's also occurred to me I havent updated Zap in a REALLY long time. I dont really know why...I should get on that...
MMORPG Giveaway
So yeah. This is pretty cool. Each code comes with some random item, and a Wyvern's Hoard Pack. And actually, this is incorrect. KI sent in 10000 codes. However, there's just over 5000 left. SO get them while they last! I had the great fortune of getting a Nightmare Pack with a code, and in it was The Nightmare Mount! I wish you all the best of luck!
In other news, KI has brought the Crokogator and the Hippogriff mounts into the Live Realm. Test Realm players will remember these.
Also, new colors for the season! You dig?
I'm trying to start a trend. Get as many people as possible to wear Green with Red for the holiday season! SPREAD THE JOLLIES!
I'll add a link to MMORPG's giveaway here. (Should have added this up there but who cares):
How's Zafaria?
HI GUYS! My first post since the Zafaria update about three days ago. How's it going for ya? Me, I've beaten the world, I'm Transcended, have my Dr. Von's Monster spell (named it Frankie), AND got a Leopard pet drop from Nergal last night :D Personally, I think ZF was kinda short...but it was entertaining! So, funny story last night, I was doing Mirror Lake (final dungeon of ZF) with some friend, and near the end, someone shouts, "ALRIGHT, NOW LETS GO KILL MORGANTHE!" And the expression on their face when I explained we wont face her for 3 more worlds...Priceless. Anbother story, I freaked out during one of the quests I got. IT WAS DOCTOR WHO! Okay, so I had to locate the Professor (referred to as the Doctor in the series), retrieve his Cosmic Caliper (Sonic Screwdriver) and when I met him in Marleybone, HE HAD HIS PHONEBOOTH (TARDIS)!!!!!!!!!! And because ZF JUST came out, there really is no news. Just giving you all a status update one my experience. Good luck and happy questing!
Doctor Who is still Swelltacular
HAI GAIZ!
HEY EVERYONE! So I had this great idea earlier today while doing a-- erm, things... ANYWAY! I thought I'd survey people from everywhere Wizzy in order to ascertain the most popular items and locations among all Wizards. My plan is to ask as many Wizards as humanly possible what their favorite pets, mount, house, spell, school, world, teacher, outfit, enemy, instance, and whether they prefer pet derby or PvP. This should be fun :D
Also, you can leave your comments below on your opinions of these things.
Sry gaiz
Hi everyone! Sorry I've been slacking on my posts recently. I've just been really busy with.....things...BUT I'M HERE NOW! So I'll just resume my normal bloggie activities. First on the agenda...
Harvest Hannah is back for the fall season! You can find her in the Shopping District near the fountain to purchase all sorts of unique fall themed gear.
In other news, The Wyvern's Hoard pack is now 50% off it's original price of 399 Crowns. Pretty good deal if you ask me. But then again, no one ever asks me so...meh.
We're still eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new world Zafaria in the Live Realm for us all to enjoy. If I had to take a guess, I'd say not more than a week or two. So that's something for us all to look forward to!
In OTHER Wizzy news, I'm thinking about making a section for me to catalog all the previous Abracadoodle drawing that KI has posted on their site. What do you think? I'll create a poll and let the viewers decide. (And prove that they still pay attention to this blog). Speaking of which, I'm thinking of discontinuing Zap for a while. I've got too much going on. Sorry gaiz :(
IN MAH LIFE NEWS (your favorite part, because EVERYONE loves knowing what i'm doing with my life), I've recently discovered my love for a popular sci-fy show, Doctor Who. Dont know what it is, then I'll smite you, bring you back to life to make you watch it, and smite you again. Probably my favorite show ever. And now, because of it, SOMEONE NEEDS TO BUY ME A TARDIS! Or at the very least a Sonic Screwdriver :D
THAT'S ALL FOR THIS POST! SEE YOU IN THE SPIRAL! Or maybe not...yeah probably not...I like my house...BYE!
WIZZY ZAFARIA UPDATES!
WIZZY ZAFARIA UPDATE NOTES!
Zafaria
Dire News from Zafaria
If you are a level 60 Wizard and have successfully completed the quest "Through This Door" speak to Merle Ambrose in his tower in Wizard City.
Young Wizard, I need a favor. Please come to my office in the Commons as soon as you can! We have a small crisis which I hope you can help with. It involves travel to the world of Zafaria. I was there, long ago...
Sir Reginald Baxby and Dalia Falmea created a student exchange program to Zafaria. Her assistant, Umlilo Sunchaser, led the first expedition. They were supposed to be studying, but the class and Professor Umlilo have both disappeared. Your help investigating this mystery would be appreciated. Go and ask Reginald Baxby in Golem Court for the Spiral key.
But beware, while it is a lush and vibrant land, Zafaria was once the home of Morganthe and even still her agents sow the seeds of chaos. As war threatens to sweep over the grasslands and penetrate deep into the jungles of Zafaria, Morganthe plots to recover the heart of her lost power, and fulfill the words of the prophecy.
Zafaria contains 6 different areas that can be accessed with a Membership or individual areas in Zafaria can be purchased for 1695 each.
Expand your Game
Wizards can now achieve Level 70!
With the addition of Zafaria, Wizards can now achieve the maximum level of 70!
This means all new gear and equipment for over level 60 Wizards, and it also means new challenges that will test even the most wizened player.
Please remember, no experience is rewarded for duels and quests completed while you were the prior maximum level of 60. When a player reaches the maximum level, their experience bar disappears, indicating they are not gaining experience from their duels or quests. No experience is rewarded to those who are at the maximum level, which means that everyone who was level 60 before we raised the level cap, will be level 60 to start, now that we have raised the level cap, and you can once again start earning new experience points from your adventures.
Experience was not earned when you were level 60 and therefore cannot be granted after the level cap is raised.
Armor Piercing
Introducing a new system for Wizards that will allow players to negate the defenses of their opponents and deliver deadly spell attacks even through heavily fortified opponents. Creatures of the Spiral do not yet have this ability.
Armor Piercing can be gained through gear, pet talents, and spells. Armor Piercing on spells can exist as enchantments from Sun school cards, beneficial effects from auras, or inherent Armor Piercing on a spell card.
Existing spells will be upgraded to include Armor Piercing in their calculation. The existing spell adjustments will be primarily on higher level Sun School Accuracy enchantments and are outlined below.
  Spell  Old Value  New Value
  Sniper  +20 Accuracy  +20 Accuracy, +5% Armor Piercing
  Unstoppable  +25 Accuracy  +25 Accuracy, 10% Armor Piercing
  Extraordinary    +30 Accuracy    +30 Accuracy, 15% Armor Piercing
Armor Piercing is calculated by reducing the resistance of targeted enemies by the value of the Armor Piercing of the casted spell. For example, a spell cast with 7% Armor Piercing on a target with 90% resistance will have damage calculated by taking 83% of normal damage.
This Armor Piercing value is inclusive of any wards that are present on a target. For example, if a spell has a 20% Armor Piercing value and is cast on a player with a Tower Shield ( 50% Damage Resistance ) then the effective damage is only reduced by 30%.
Armor Piercing does not work against Curses. ( Plague, Weakness, Efreet Curse )
Pet Feeding
You've been asking for more ways to improve your pets, and currently the only thing we offer is the ability to play minigames and feed them pet snacks. Well all those strenuous minigames and duels have given your pets much bigger appetites than those measly snacks can fulfill, so we're introducing the ability to feed your pets items that you have in your backpack!
You will have the ability to feed your currently equipped pet any item* that's in your inventory and receive a variety of rewards ranging from gold, to treasure cards, to rare reagents, and sometimes occasionally even pet experience. Every item that is fed to a pet can either return gold, an item, or pet stats.
*excludes other pets, mounts and houses
Feeding a pet equipment & housing items is done through a simple 'Feed' button that appears next to the ‘Trash’ button in your backpack. You can only feed a pet while it is equipped and you will get a confirmation window similar to the trash button. So start feeding your pets all those extra items that are taking up space in your backpack!
Let the Music Play!
New Music Player!
In the Wizard City Furniture Shop you will find a few new items, most importantly Aubert can now sell you a Music Player and Music Scrolls. Scrolls are used in the Music Player to allow you to have different world music in your Castle or Dorm. Aubert only stocks Wizard City Main Theme and Krokotopia Main Theme, but look for other ways to obtain scrolls from other worlds throughout the Spiral.
To change the music in your house, simply place the Music Box in the house and select it while in 'Furniture Placement Mode' - you will see a musical note icon appear that will indicate you can change the music. Clicking on the musical note will open the following window:
This window shows your Music Box, and all the Scrolls in your Backpack
To add a Scroll to your Music Box, simply click on it and then click the "Add a Musical Scroll to the Music Player" button at the bottom.
To view all the Scrolls you have in that particular Music Box, click the Magical Note tab at the top of the screen, and you will see a list of the 'equipped' scroll, and other scrolls you have associated with that Music Box.
When you place a single Music Box outside, it will control the music for the entire exterior zone of your house.
When you place a single Music Box inside, it will control the music for that entire interior zone of your house.
When you place more than one Music Box in a zone of your house (inside or outside) the Music Box that you are closest to will dictate the music that is played for you.
Music Scrolls can be found in shops and as potential rewards for dueling the bosses of each of the worlds of the Spiral. Now let the music play!
Character Stat Updates
Improved Character Statistics
With the addition of Armor Piercing and some updates that our players have requested, we have made some minor changes to the way your Character Stat sheet looks for different levels of characters.
Current Stats Window
Just as a reminder, this is how the stats page looks for any character (this is a level 1, so she doesn't have much!)
New Stats Window for Under Level 10
Players who are under level 10 will see this panel. You'll notice that Power Pips, Critical and Block are missing from this panel, as players under level 10 cannot get these stats.
New Stats Window for Over Level 10
Once a player reaches level 10, their stats window will gain a new 'Advanced Character Stats' button at the top of their Stat page.
New Advanced Stats Window for Over Level 10
The Advanced Stats window will give you information on that character's Critical Rating, Block Rating, Power Pip Percentage, Healing In/Out Percentage, Stun Resistance Percentage and the new Armor Piercing Percentage.
Hopefully this simplified character stats sheet will help players better understand how their equipment and other enhancements alter their performance in duels.
